Why the forest
I grew up with a dad who loved the outdoors. Some of my best memories are of following him up forest trails and mountain paths, stopping to eat beside streams and waterfalls, and talking by the fire long after dark.
Later I worked on a farm and with livestock, close to the land. Somewhere along the way I started seeing nature the way I still see it today: as the creator's artwork. Light breaking through the trees. Mist settling on a ridge. Still water at first light.
My dad and I still go hiking together. Emberwood Walls is my way of bringing a little of that feeling home, to the bedrooms, reading corners and quiet rooms where you slow down at the end of the day.
